About the Journal

The Brazilian Journal of Maintenance & Asset Management (BJM&AM) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Brazilian Association of Maintenance and Asset Management (ABRAMAN). The journal is dedicated to disseminating high-quality original research articles and review papers, written in English or Portuguese, in two core fields: Maintenance and Asset Management. BJM&AM adopts a continuous publication model, with annual volumes and occasional special issues.

Founded on October 17, 1984, ABRAMAN, a non-profit association, aims to foster education, scientific and technological research, and to promote, encourage, and disseminate knowledge, experiences, and best practices in Maintenance and Asset Management, both in Brazil and internationally.

Subject Areas

The BJM&AM covers the following maintenance disciplines, but are not limited to:

  1. Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  2. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  3. Maintenance Planning and Scheduling.
  4. Maintenance Shutdown and Outages Management.
  5. Condition Based Maintenance.
  6. Maintenance Costs.

Papers reporting emerging topics or solving problems of Brazil are preferred. Review articles must have a minimum of 60 references and must be accompanied by a letter to the editor justifying the relevance of the manuscript, explaining how it differs from other reviews in the literature and how the profile of the authors is relevant to the Review. Review articles may also be submitted by invitation.
